This school pool had reached the end of its serviceable life in its tiled form, with ongoing leaks and visible surface degradation calling for a more robust and watertight solution. Brought in under a build-assist arrangement, we worked directly with the school’s on-site maintenance team to deliver a targeted refurbishment of the pool shell.

Ahead of our visit, we provided clear guidance on preparatory steps, such as exposing existing shell fittings and making working areas accessible for modification. Once on site, we carefully removed the outdated components, increased the opening sizes where required, and installed a complete new suite of shell fittings in readiness for a bespoke on-site welded liner.

New pipework was installed as part of the wider refurbishment, and we ensured all new shell fittings were securely connected and pressure tested before any trench reinstatement works were undertaken.

The original scum channel detail was removed, and we supported the team in making the shell good to receive a liner. We also advised on the reconfiguration of the pool steps to improve accessibility and align with the school’s long-term needs.

Also within our remit was the supply and installation of a stainless steel perimeter grab rail system, offering both practical support for bathers and a clean, contemporary finish to the pool edge.

Our involvement focused solely on the pool shell and associated fittings. Working in coordination with the school team, the result was a durable and visually refreshed swimming environment — a valuable addition to the school’s facilities and a meaningful asset for the children’s wellbeing.
